What we do

Hope Is Where the Heart Is

According to the World Happiness Index of the UN, 2019 India ranks 140 among the world’s happiest countries which is abysmal. The index has key indicators like generosity, having social support in times of trouble, and freedom to make life choices besides income and wealth. This hardly makes the case that the index successfully measures personal happiness, joy and cheerfulness. At the most it is an indication of over all well being and prosperity rather than personal happiness.

HAPCOM FOUNDATION believes that common indicators like income and wealth are important aspects and contributors towards an individuals’s happiness and the current indicators cannot completely define the level of personal happiness. For us happiness is very personal to an individual and this its what it makes life worth living. Happiness can be found in little things. We believe that someone can be truly happy when one is true to self and close to the nature. Materialistic possessions provide more off a feeling of excitement of which is often confused as happiness. Happiness is a sustained state of bliss while excitement is a momentary high. After being happy one doesn’t yearn for more but instead moves in life with joy and positivity. Happiness is also connected with people’s relationships with other individuals, family members, friends and community.

A poor person can still be happy if he feels fulfilled with whatever he has and a rich and wealthy person may still feel unhappy due to poor health, stress, insecurity and strained relationships with the near and dear ones.

We at HAPCOM FOUNDATION want to see India move up on the happiness index but also with these traits imbibed in them. Therefore we intend to work for the indicators of the world happiness index but with focus on the personal happiness that is deeply entrenched at an individual’s heart and mind. Whatever we do will be aimed at achieving happiness among the individuals and communities. We will try to make the world a happier place.

At HAPCOM FOUNDATION we’re raising funds and promoting initiatives to serve the people who need them most.
